The Production Sewist will be responsible for operating sewing machines and creating a variety of products based on specifications and design patterns.
The ideal candidate is skilled in sewing, has a keen eye for detail, and can consistently produce high-quality work.
Requirements
Interpreting and following garment design or pattern instructions
Operate sewing machines or sew manually to create, repair, or alter garments and other fabric-made items
Measure and mark fabrics for cutting or shaping
Ensure that all pieces are correctly assembled and that the finished product is of high quality
Perform maintenance tasks such as replacing needles and cleaning and oiling sewing machines to ensure their longevity and good working condition
Inspect fabrics for defects and remove defective parts prior to the sewing process
Assist in cutting, pressing, and finishing work
Communicate with design and production teams about issues, progress, and changes
Adhere to safety and health standards while handling sewing machines and other tools
Maintain a clean and organized workspace
